Cross filament wound Pipes

These pipes, produced by Sarplast, are manufactured by means of crosswise wound method.
This means that the glass fibre rovings will be impregnated with thermoset resin and cross wound on a mandrill until the desired wall thickness reached.
If an extra high stiffness need te be created the resin will be combined with sand.
The fysical characteristics of the cross wound pipes with the used resins and glass roving give the pipes a high endurance against a lot of heavy chemicals and mechanical stresses. In general Vinylester or Isoftalic resin is used for these GRP pipes.
The Vinylester resin has a endurance against 800 different chemicals and fluids dependent of the medium and surroundings. Isoftalic resin has a endurance to corrosion and is resistend to a lot of chemicals and fluids dependent of the medium and surroundings.
The standard size varies from diameters of 25 mm up to 3400 mm.
Pipes and fittings are classified according to nominal pressure. Standard pressure classes are 4, 6, 10, 16, 20, 25, 32 and 60 Bar. Intermediate or higher pressure classes are considered on request or depending on the design conditions.
Pipes are also classified according to specific pipe stiffness. Standard stiffness classes are 1250, 2500, 5000 and 10000 Pa. Intermediate or higher stiffness classes are available on request or depending on the design conditions.
The following connection methods can be applied for these pipes with the filament cross winded method:
  • Bell & Spigot joint
Consists of an integral socket end plus a machined spigot end with two SBR elastomeric gaskets. On special request or depending on the fluid other types of rubber are supplied.
  • Bell & Spigot with locking key
Consists of an integral socket end plus a machined spigot end with two SBR elastomeric gaskets with a locking device. On special request or depending on the fluid other types of rubber are supplied. Standard locking devices are made of Nylon 6. The joint is resistant to axial forces.
  • Bell and plain ends pipe with lips gasket
Consists of an integral socket end and a plain end with a lips elastomeric gasket.
  • Butt & Strap
Is a laminate joint resistant to axial force. Plain-ended pipes and fittings can be used.
  • Fixed flange & loose flange
Flanges are drilled in accordance with UNI, ANSI standards. On special request other standards can be met.
  • Mechanical coupling
Mechanical couplers are available on various types, either axial resistant or non tensile resistant. Axial resistant couplers can be used with plain-ended pipes.Other joining systems are available on request basis.
